A House Condemned Against Itself?

Post and photos by the Hawthorne Hawkman.

1541 Hillside Avenue, a house owned by the ominously-sounding group "Equitron Holdings" now has a condemnation placard posted on the front door of the lower unit.  The condemnation reason given is "structural defects and lack of maintenance."  And in spite of such potential defects, it appears that the upper unit may be occupied.

Wasn't there a Transformer named Equitron?  Here's hoping this thing changes back into a code-compliant property soon.

  1. Jeff, that's 1541 Hillside.

1547 is on the other side of the alley.

    Still a shitty house, though.

  2. Ugh, thanks for catching the typo. The post has been altered to reflect the correct house.

You are wrong about this house though; it is gorgeous and I'll go to the mat to keep it from being torn down if it comes to that.

  4. Or maybe anon was referring to 1547, which is in fact a shitty house.

  5. OK, I'm confused. Are we talking about condemnation on the White house or the Green/Tan house?

  6. Yes, Jeff, 1547 is a shithole and should go.

1541, however, needs owners that actually give a crap, or it might wind up as shitty as 1547

  7. So sad to read the above. My grandparents owned this home for 70 plus years. My mother was born there. While my grandparents lived downstairs, a series of married children and grand children lived in the upper duplex. Many happy memories were made there.
